About Me

Brief Bio

Prof. F. Richard Yu received the PhD degree in electrical engineering from the University of British Columbia (UBC) in 2003. His research interests include connected/autonomous vehicles, artificial intelligence, blockchain, and wireless systems. He has been named in the Clarivate’s list of ``Highly Cited Researchers" in computer science for five consecutive years (2019-2023), Standford’s ``Top 2% Most Highly Cited Scientist" and AMiner's ``Most Influential Scholar Award Honorable Mention" for four consecutive years (2020-2023). He has published 800+ papers in prestigious journals and conferences with 48,000+ and an H-index of 107+ (Googel Scholar). He has been ranked #13 in Canada and #345 globally among the top researchers in Computer Science (Research.com). Additionally, he holds the #9 position in Canada and is ranked #165 globally among the leading researchers in Electronics and Electrical Engineering (Research.com). He received several Best Paper Awards from some first-tier conferences, Carleton Research Achievement Awards in 2012 and 2021, and the Ontario Early Researcher Award (formerly Premiers Research Excellence Award) in 2011. He is a Board Member the IEEE VTS and the Editor-in-Chief for IEEE VTS Mobile World newsletter. He is a Member of the Academia Europaea (MAE), a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE), Engineering Institute of Canada (EIC), IEEE, and IET. He is a Distinguished Lecturer of IEEE in both VTS and ComSoc.
