Dr. Fateme Rajabiyazdi

Assistant Professor

Dr. Fateme Rajabiyazdi graduated with a Ph.D. in Computer Science in the area of information visualization from the Interactions Lab at the University of Calgary in December 2018. During her PhD, she was awarded the Ward of 21st Century Health Services Research Scholarship, and as the data visualization researcher, she collaborated in designing the first patient-centred care planning tool in Alberta. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at McGill University, where she was awarded Fonds de la Recherche du Quebec Santé (FRQS) to work on developing a Patient-Reported Outcome to measure recovery after abdominal surgery. Dr. Rajabiyazdi's research is at the intersection of information visualization (Infovis), human-computer interaction (HCI), and Health. The overarching goal of her research is to design intuitive interactive data visualization systems that enhance engagement between patients, healthcare professionals, and health policy makers by supporting the communication of complex health data. Her research is supported by NSERC and the Ontario Center of Excellence.
